Focusing on accessibility

A group of people with disabilities. The image is used for decorative purposes and it does not contain any text.
We understand that it may not be possible to design a 100% accessible website, service or learning product meeting every single user’s needs, but we aim at designing every single piece of work we are producing as accessible as it can possibly be.

We are testing and developing our services alongside users considering the device and any assistive technology they are using.

Some key points we are considering are;

Language

  • Clear and simple.
  • Sentence case.
  • Short sentences and paragraphs.
  • Easy for a 9-year-old to understand it.
Structure
  • Meaningful title.
  • Arial font (Sans serif font).
  • Minimum font size of 12 points.
  • No capitalised text, italics or underlined text (except for links).
  • Text left aligned, not justified.
  • Links are descriptive and state where the user will land.
  • Tables used only for data, not text.
Images
Videos
  • Closed captions for English language.
  • Subtitles for both English and Greek language.
Audio files
Transcript for both English and Greek language.

For the Speak Greek Academy, we have published an Accessibility Statement which you can read. Read the Accessibility Statement (link opens in a new window).
