A Day of Greek Language & Culture: Join Us on Saturday 21 February 2026

That’s why we’re thrilled to invite you to a full day of free events celebrating Greek language, culture, and multilingualism. Whether you’re preparing for your GCSEs, exploring your heritage, or simply curious about Greek, there’s something here for you.

Event 1 — Free Webinar: GCSE Greek – Conducting the Speaking Exam

10:00–10:30 (Online)

If you’re preparing for the GCSE in Modern Greek, this focused 30‑minute webinar is designed to boost your confidence and sharpen your technique. Delivered from an examiner’s perspective, it covers:

  • Key components of Paper 2 (Speaking)
  • What examiners should and shouldn't do
  • Practical tips to help you conduct the speaking exam at your best

Event 2 — Free Face‑to‑Face Event: Celebrating International Mother Language Day

13:00–16:00  

Manchester Central Library, Performance Space (Ground Floor)

International Mother Language Day is a global celebration of linguistic diversity—and we’re proud to be part of it.

Representatives from Mexico, Czech Republic, China, Greece, and Poland will come together to share activities, traditions, and stories from their languages and cultures.

Speak Greek will be offering:

  • Hands‑on activities to practise writing the Greek alphabet
  • A fun quiz with key facts about Greece
  • Free pens, pencils, pins, and bookmarks
  • A welcoming space to explore Greek language and culture

Event 3 — Free Face‑to‑Face Event: Greek Book Club

16:00–17:00  

Manchester Central Library, Performance Space (Ground Floor)

Language learning becomes truly meaningful when it connects with stories, ideas, and culture. Our Greek Book Club is a space where learners and lovers of Greek come together to explore literature in a relaxed, friendly environment.

Should you have reached the C2 Level of Greek, this hour is for you. Expect conversation, cultural insights, and the joy of reading together.
