Greek Prefixes

An initiative by Speak Greek has just been launched! A new Greek prefix every day will be posted on our facebook page under the hashtag #GreekPrefixes

The first one is the prefix acro- (acrobat)
from the Greek word akros (άκρος): at the top, extreme, highest.

  1. It's unclear how to resolve this.
The “polynomial” is a Bad Thing; it should really be a “multinomial”, and “monomial” should be “uninomial”. The prefix “tri-” isn't clearly either Greek or Latin, but the stem following is clearly “nom-” and not “onom-”.
You can start a campaign at once, or give up before you start.
